The Leachate Treatment Plant (LTP) operating at Kimbriki Landfill was designed and constructed by JPG Engineering. It has been operated and maintained by JPG personnel since commissioning in February 2019. To date, the LTP has treated and discharged over 350ML of compliant leachate to sewer under the Site’s Sydney Water Trade Waste Agreement (TWA).
The LTP is designed to biologically remove up to 240kg of ammonia and 180kg of BOD at a maximum hydraulic rate of 520m³ per day. The treatment process involves two Sequencing Batch Reactors (SBRs) operating in parallel with appropriate chemical dosing to biologically treat the Landfill’s Leachate to below the Site’s Sydney Water TWA discharge requirement.
